SEASONAL EPA 2012

Merrimack Repertory Theatre would like to announce EPAs for the 2012/13 Season. Details are listed below. MRT is a LORT D theatre in Lowell, MA. Auditions will be Friday, June 1st from 11AM-6pm at Boston Playwright’s Theatre, 949 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, MA. The BPT is accessible by public transportation by taking the B train on the green line to the Pleasant St. stop.

Audition Requirements:
Actors are asked to prepare one contemporary monologue.

Understudies:
No roles will be understudied

Memory House

A poignant drama laced with recognizable family humor as a mother and her adopted Russian daughter fill out college application forms.

Roles:

    Maggie – Caucasian; In her 50’s Was once a dancer, so she still has the grace and mobility associated with someone good with movement. Warm, funny, smart, with a dry wit. Is more resilient than would first appear, as she might be preceived as “soft” or “vulnerable” but she can hold her own when needs to. A good mom and a fundamentally self-less person, but not without edge and self-awareness.

Half n’ Half n’ Half

Directed by: Kyle Fabel
A zany comedy about a marriage between an actress and an actor working in a repertory theatre company, and how their off-stage lives infect and are reflected in the plays they are performing onstage.

Roles:

    George – a middle aged actor at a repertory company, playing the following roles in two different shows:

      Dodik – a character in a Russian melodrama in the style of The Philosopher’s Concubine
      Mr. Dundleworthy – a character in an American comedy in the style of Kaufman and Hart similar to Stalemate.

    Frances –the daughter of George & Loretta also acts in the Rep company playing the following roles in two shows:

      Fanya – A character in Russian melodrama in the style of The Philosopher’s Concubine
      Dorthy – a character in an American comedy in the style of Kaufman and Hart similar to Stalemate.

    Michael – A young actor in the Rep company, plays the following roles in two shows:

      Nikolai – A character in Russian melodrama in the style of The Philosopher’s Concubine
      Stanley – a character in an American comedy in the style of Kaufman and Hart similar to Stalemate, The Assistant to Mrs. Dundleworthy
