MRT Deputy Director of Development Laura Polan

MRT is excited to announce hiring of Laura Polan as the company’s new Deputy Director of Development. An experienced development professional, Ms. Polan will play a key role in MRT’s efforts to cultivate relationships with donors, increase grant funding, and bolster legacy giving. She will work closely with MRT’s Executive Director Steven Leon to identify and increase support for MRT’s artistic programs. As a non-profit professional theatre committed to keeping ticket prices affordable to widest possible audience, MRT must raise fifty percent of its budget each season from individuals, businesses and foundations.

“I am honored and delighted to join MRT,” said Ms. Polan. “As a patron and donor, I have always had a strong commitment to this organization, the mission and the vision for its future. I look forward to working with the dedicated board and staff members to continue the tradition of offering the highest level of artistic excellence while remaining affordable to community members.”

Executive Director Steven Leon adds, “I am absolutely thrilled that Laura Polan has joined our management team here at MRT. We couldn’t have designed a better candidate and I am confident that her contributions will help us advance our development program to new levels of success.”

Prior to joining MRT, Ms. Polan previously worked in the development departments of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Westport Country Playhouse. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor in Music and Boston University with a Master of Science in Arts Administration.
