In honor of the Grand Reopening of MRT’s newly renovated Liberty Hall, last night the Lowell City Council officially proclaimed the week of Sept 3rd-9th to be Merrimack Repertory Theatre week. MRT’s Grand Reopening will be held September 6 at 4pm on the terrace of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Scheduled to speak at the ceremony are City Manager Bernie Lynch, Lowell Mayor Patrick O. Celebration guests can park in the Davidson Street lot at no charge provided they enter between 3:30 and 4:30pm and depart by 6pm.

Following the dedication, all guests will be invited to tour the facility to see the new seats in the Nancy L. Later that evening, MRT will raise the curtain on its 34th Season with Homestead Crossing, a new comedy by Massachusetts playwright William Donnelly.

As part of the Grand Reopening ceremony on September 6, City of Lowell Mayor Patrick O. Murphy will read the following proclamation, approved by the Lowell City Council on August 14.
